Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you’re new to therapy or already familiar with the process, I encourage you to take a moment to read through the FAQs. If you choose to work with me, you’ll be asked to sign a therapy agreement. This outlines what you can expect from committing to therapy.

  • If you feel that talking therapy might be right for you and you're interested in working together please get in touch via phone or email and I can let you know my availability.

You are welcome to book a free, no-obligation 20-minute introductory call via phone or video. I would like to hear about your reasons for seeking therapy and you are welcome to ask me any questions about therapy or the way I work.

If you would like to move forward, we will arrange an initial consultation. In this 50-minute session I will ask some questions to get to know you better and you will hopefully get a sense of what it is like to talk to me.

From that point we will decide on a day and time to meet for weekly therapy then go over and sign the Therapy Agreement. If we decide not work work together, I’d be happy to suggest alternative options or refer you to other resources.

  • Feel free to explore the ‘About Me’ and ‘Approach’ sections of my website to get a sense of whether my way of working resonates with you.

Trust your instincts. Our introductory call and initial consultation are opportunities for us to explore whether we’re a good fit for working together.

I see the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process, where both client and therapist actively contribute to the work and invest in building trust together.

It may take more than one conversation to determine if we’re a good match but it is important you feel comfortable moving forward.

  • Psychotherapy is a significant investment of time, resources, and emotional commitment.

Time is needed to build trust so we can explore you experience with sensitivity and care. For this reason I do not offer ad-hoc sessions.

We’ll meet for 50 minutes each week, on the same day and time. This is a mutual commitment and supports the continuity of our work together.

There will be breaks during my annual leave which amount to 6-8 weeks per year. These will be communicated well in advance.

I am currently unable to offer double-length sessions or sessions on a fortnightly basis.

  • I offer open-ended therapy, meaning we can continue working together for as long as it feels helpful and meaningful to you.

We will review our work at session 6 to see how it is going but I welcome feedback at any stage.

When you feel ready to end therapy, we’ll discuss it together and agree on an appropriate time to bring our work to a close.

  • I offer online sessions and face to face in London- Dalston E8 and Stoke Newington N16.

I offer a mix of daytime and early evening slots. I do not offer any sessions on the weekend.

  • It is shown that consistent attendance is linked to better outcomes for therapy. It is therefore important that as far as possible, sessions are regular.

I charge a £15 admin and retainer fee for any missed session, unless it is cancelled within 48 hours then the full fee is payable.

If I have sufficient notice of the cancellation and can reschedule, I will.

  • My Stoke Newington N16 space is down a staircase of eight of stairs and my Dalston E8 space is up a staircase of 50. They are both well lit and have a handrail.

If for whatever reason it is hard to make it in person one week, I can be flexible and move our session to online.

If you would like to discuss any access needs you may have, you are welcome to get in touch with me.
